The Tibetan Dragon is a dragon with a long thin body that is closely related to the Chinese Lung. It populates the Himalayas and it's scientific name even translates as mountain dragon.

Mount Kailash

Mount Kailash, mountain with highest dragon population.

They live in the snow covered regions, the mountain tops in summer and the platou in winter, especially on and around Mount Kailash (pictured to the left) which was supposedly the home of the great Tsangpo which they protect against people by eating them.

They kill these people, along with their other prey of yetis or increasingly (due to declining yeti populations) yaks which they kill through biting or constriction (if biting backfires).

Due to the lack of other predators at these altitudes they are colored red or orange. Another adaptation is a body which is thinner than a Chinese Lung's at a length of 40 feet while have a height of just 10 to 12 feet. Other differences between them and the Chinese lung are a shorter neck and a smaller head although they share the same number of toes.

When born their eggs are laid in snow and are colored yellow, orange or green with a faint marbling. When hatched, the chicks are 'aquatic' which means that they 'swim' through the snow.

They have also been known to meditate with monks although communicating with them verbally is banned.
